The Crown Estate (TCE) is owned by the Monarch in right of the Crown. It is a £14.1 billion UK real estate business with a portfolio spanning prime retail centres across the UK, world-class destinations in Central London and much of the country’s seabed.
Tailored Consultancy Services
Our relationship with TCE commenced in early 2018 the provision of consultancy services for a portfolio of 203 sites under three Managing Agents (MAs). Our dedicated Account Team, lead by our Software Director and Technical Account Director, delivered a complex yet seamless transition from the previous incumbent, within one calendar month. The main deliverables include Health and Safety Assessments, Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Drills, Asbestos Management Surveys / Re-inspections, Water Risk Assessments and Environmental Audits. In addition, a highly bespoke Accident & Incident Reporting System was developed and delivered through our Meridian Software.
Improved Transparency
Our development and operation of a highly personalised Accident & Incident Reporting software package has proven to be revolutionary to TCE in terms of accurate data capture, demonstrable tracking of remedial actions to closure, having real-time visibility and automated reporting. Our detailed approach to site risk assessments and rapidly gained site knowledge has also ensured that historical issues and technical challenges have been resolved. Constantly evolving detailed monthly reporting and targeted auditing of highlighted topics has enabled a much greater visibility and understanding of compliance standards and has been instrumental in valuable clarity and objectiveness to risk reduction being achieved. Feedback tells us that such changes are already proving to be having a positive effect on health & safety culture across the board.
Close Engagement
Our team strive to continually promote an open communication structure, deliver all services to a consistent high quality and to provide innovative technical solutions that exceed TCE’s corporate goals and aspirations.
Our Senior Management Team meet with TCE’s key stakeholders on a weekly basis to consistently review compliance status, consolidate and improve upon processes and input ideas for strategic and operational development – all in a collaborative and informative manner.
Monthly meetings are also held with each MA separately to provide support, awareness and encouragement in a positive “one goal approach” that promotes enhancement of risk management across the very varied portfolio.
Quarterly Forums with TCE and all MAs together are led by us to promote an exchange of ideas, train in new policies and procedures, workshop around lessons learnt and receive feedback. At grass-root levels site managers are provided with operational assistance, increased awareness and mentoring as part of the risk assessment process all in line with headline strategy.
Evolving Partnership
As we have developed a greater understanding of TCE’s business requirements, there has been a need to substantially grow the service provision since the commencement of the contract. Additional services have included various consultancy services across the originally excluded rural estate together with numerous requests from the MAs for additional services such as training, property hazard sheets, water log books, fire strategies and access audits. Our aim is to continue to evolve with TCE as their trusted partner to advise and support them in achieving an optimised risk management model
