Due to the high-risk nature and complexity of the student accommodation, all work is undertaken by highly qualified and experienced Fire Consultants and CMIOSH Health & Safety Consultants. Risk Assessment and Audit Templates are bespoke to iQ and are regularly reviewed and enhanced to reflect the fire risks relating to student accommodation to ensure they remain suitable and sufficient and reflective of changes made by iQ within its operation and maintenance of the buildings. Meridian, our intelligent risk management software, is highly customised for transparent tracking of statutory documentation and action management and the automatic production of real-time Management Information Reports to iQ’s specific requirements.
Innovative Solutions
Post Grenfell, iQ sought to further develop its Fire Safety Management approach and in partnership with William Martin developed an additional module on Meridian to reflect the approach of the PAS 7 standard, allowing a more comprehensive and robust measuring of all the critical aspects that are required to ensure an effective standard of fire management together with a full audit trail.
The Meridian Module allows for future enhancement and adaptation to accommodate legislative, guidance and best practice changes.
Further developments of our Consultancy Service provision has recently seen William Martin supporting iQ in a change of use of their properties to hotel accommodation in the summer months.
Close Engagement
Our Senior Management Team, including a Technical Account Director and a Technical Account Manager, meet with iQ’s key stakeholders on a regular basis to consistently review risk management status, consolidate and improve upon processes and promote the exchange of ideas for strategic and operational development and indeed innovation – all in a collaborative and informative manner. At grass roots level Community Managers are provided with operational assistance, increased awareness and mentoring as part of the risk assessment process, all in line with headline strategy. This supportive interactive partnership, together with extensive utilisation of Meridian has enabled iQ to shift from a reactive to more proactive risk management approach and a positive health and safety culture.
