Proactive Solutions
Our Technical Account Director works closely with CBRE’s HSE Director to encourage a proactive approach to risk management and has driven many initiatives, primarily through Meridian enhancements, to introduce efficiencies, streamline processes and save valuable time and cost. These have included:
- Creating and maintaining automated 2-way software links with statutory insurers and CBRE FM software systems for seamless recording of all documentation and actions.
- Automated link with CBRE’s internal property database.
- Bespoke Contractor Module for permission control.
- Automation of RIDDOR Report creation to link automatically to CBRE’s HSE system.
Evolving Fire Risk Management Solutions
Throughout our partnership, the scope of works has continuously developed and evolved. The Portman Estate have a “Best in Class” holistic approach to Fire Safety and Risk Management, an example being the extension of the type of Fire Risk Assessments undertaken from Type 1 to Type 3, with all apartments being included within the assessment. In addition, whenever a Fire Risk Assessment is undertaken an inspection of every fire door within the client’s premises is also provided using our Meridian App. A regular review of The Portman Estate Fire Safety Management System is undertaken and changes made in light of best practice, guidance and The Portman Estate objectives

Collaborative Partnership
Account Management Team has been at the heart of our relationship with The Portman Estate. Our Technical Account Director, who has vast Fire Safety and Health & Safety experience, attends regular review meetings, bi-monthly Health & Safety Committee Meetings and many ad-hoc support meetings with The Portman Estate Management Team. Review meetings consist of discussion relating to risk management status, continual improvements plus ideas for strategic and operational development. Our office-based Operational Manager provides rapid response and support, and our dedicated team of Consultants are familiar with all of the residential buildings in the portfolio and provide pragmatic action plans for improvement based on identified risk.
We also drive engagement activities such as newsletters, alerts, bulletins, focus group workshops, briefings, CPD seminars and formalised feedback to encourage buy-in, awareness, understanding and to promote continuous improvement.
